Description

Sommerville: Sard. Helmeted Warrior. Intaglios and Their Imprints, Case AAA.

Vermeule: Sard. Intaglio. (Unmounted) Laureate draped bust of a man facing to left, he wears a long crested helmet, the visor of which is in the shape of a mask. Neo-Classic. The design and particularly the method of cutting with the wheel, copying a gem of the late Antique Period.
