Description

Short, heavy steel blade with tang inserted, throughbrass disc, in carved ivory handle. Base of handle surrounded by brass ring. Carving of handle represents Ganesa, apparently caught or partly concealed in a conventionalized bush or tangle of vines. Cf. 29-93-32. The sheath consists of two long pieces of wood fastened together, near the lower end, by a wooden rivet and by a lashing of split cane. There are marks on the wood of five other original lashings.
