| Description | Short, heavy steel blade with tang inserted, throughbrass disc, in carved ivory handle. Base of handle surrounded by brass ring. Carving of handle represents Ganesa, apparently caught or partly concealed in a conventionalized bush or tangle of vines. Cf. 29-93-32. The sheath consists of two long pieces of wood fastened together, near the lower end, by a wooden rivet and by a lashing of split cane. There are marks on the wood of five other original lashings. |
