Description | database had labeled this as a "vessel handle" but its a very rudimentary human figurine. the face/nose is pinched, and the breasts are applied. there is some decoration incised in the form of chevron-like stripes on the body. the back is finished. Buff ware. The top of the handle is prolonged to form the head of an animal the head of which is molded applique; below are applique breasts. Incised decoration on horns and on lower part of handle. |
