Description

Fragment of lip and wall of chalice (?). Gently conical profile. The lip is merely the upper termination of the wall. On the wall, over the white ground, is painted a naturalistic tendril, horizontally placed, with parts of 2 leaves, in purple-brown, and parts of 2 lotus-like flowers: brown outline filled with orange. Interior covered with white ground. Light brown clay, fairly thin. Possible from Cretan version of Naukratite chalice (?).
