Description | Flaring base, just above base are two horizontal ridges. Sides of body contracting to the shoulder and rim (now missing). Two loop handles on the upper part of the body (both missing). Between the lower part of the handles are two apertures in which sit birds (heads missing). From just above the base, 2 snakes (one plain, one with incised circles on its body) coil up to the apertures, where each confronts a bird. The snakes' heads and part of their bodies are missing. Black ware burning brown, reddish brown wash on exterior. |
