Description | Fairly heavy, hard wood. Color now reddish brown, but piece has been varnished and possibly stained. Concave seat with reserved triangular cut out notches. Semi-cylindrical knobs underneath. Seat supported by upright ring with vertical rectangular block in center. Notched, ridged border on each outer side of ring. Block is decorated on front and back with facing, deep triangles (bases face opposite directions) bordered and separated by a ridge made of two shallow incised lines. Base is this flat platform on larger, heavier flat platform with four shallow incised lines, crosswise, next to each narrow side of smaller platform. |
