Description | Mug - Beazley Oinochoe Shape VIII. Intact save for chips of rim. Underside slightly concave. Lowest part of wall encircled by a wheel-run groove beneath glaze to suggest a separate foot. Vertical strap handle. Plain lip broadly overhanging. Excellent, lustrous black glaze over all including interior and the underside. Hard pinkish brown clay. Quality of glaze, character of clay and glazing of underside suggest this may not be Attic. |
