Description | Sommerville: Antique paste intaglio. A Mask. Fragment of a bronze ring (see another in onyx and iron in No. 906). Antique Pastes, Case VVV. Vermeule: Glass paste, imitating Sard. (In ancient bronze ring setting) Bust of a youth of the late 1st to 2nd century A.D., represented in full face with drapery around the shoulders. The portrait is comparable to that of the boy Julius in the British Museum or the young Marcus Venustius on a sepulchral cippus in Toronto. Graeco-Roman. |
