Description | Vermeule: Carnelian. Intaglio. (Modern gold ring setting) Draped. Cuirassed bust of a man facing to left. He wears an animal skin cap similar to those worn by Roman signeferes inscribed SCIPIAF. Scipio Africanus is undoubtedly intended. Neo-Classic, the features, of course, purely ideal. |
