Description | Beaked metal blade with concave cutting edge; two pierced round holes; slight projection at base of cutting edge and at lower end of back, below which the back is cut in to the tang which extends the full length of the wooden grip. Grip oval in section for one-third its length near the blade, wrapped completely with wire and narrow strip of brass; the next third is inset, circular in section, also wrapped with wire and brass strip; the end is an offset circular section studded with brass-headed tacks. |
