Description

Wood, small, strongly convex in line of long axis. Painted red, white, black. Conical boss. Kisinje (Kissenji) is in Bugoi, a "state" of Ruanda. The shields in shape, type of decoration, boss, closely resemble a shield figured by Czekanowski (Zwishenseengebiet, p. 195, fig. 123) as a "typical Ruanda shield". The shields of Collins have a grip carved out of the solid; in this and in being somewhat smaller they differ from the "typical Ruanda shield". They may be models; the grip might be rather easily broken in practical use.
