Description

Base-sherd from a closed vessel. Fine, pink (5YR 6-7/3-4) clay with a paler surface, with decoration in dark reddish brown to black paint. Wiped with water and burnished. Interior unpainted. Tortoise-shell ripple above band at base; outer edge of bottom of base painted. Comments: MM III-LM IB. For Ripple Ware see vol. I, no. 24.
