Description | Red cotton plain weave cloth. Decotative motifs of animals and birds with some geometric scroll work at opposite ends. Two breadths joined with cotton and silk threads. Decorative elements are in pink, green, purple, grey, aqua, white, turquoise and mauve. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 50 epi, two singles, Z twist, red cotton. Weft: 26 ppi, three singles, Z twist, red cotton. Warp predominantly plain weave. Supplementary weft is two faced. Two panels, four selvedges each. Woven on a backstrap loom." |
