Description | Bark cloth poncho with applied rosettes. Rows of chevron slashes at sides and along bottom; rows of small cut-out diamonds diagonally across breast, along sides, and above and below slashes at bottom. Fringed at arm holes and bottom. Exhibited at l'Exposition universelle de Paris 1900. According to tag, belonged to Maurice Renault, who was in charge of Tahitian exhibits at the Exposition. |
