Description | Fragment of lip and wall of large kantharos. Interior fully glazed. On exterior, on reserved ground, decoration in black glaze lines. To left, 3 vertical parallel lines. Then , band of vertical chevrons, and a second set of 3 vertical parallel lines. On lip a horizontal row of diamonds between wheel-glazed lines. On wall, to left, a panel with 2 birds facing right, one above the other. Then, alternately, sets of vertical parallel lines and vertical bands of chevrons. Brown clay. Splotches of ink on exterior surface. |
