Description

Square cream-colored silk handkerchief with deep hems and square of cotton openwork embroidery framing broad central cross. Plain weave. Handkerchiefs like this one were most commonly used by cosmopolitan Filipina women during the late 1800s. Displayed at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis in 1904.
