Description | Long oblong strip of sheer pink piña (pineapple fiber) cloth whose color is achieved by the pink weft. Piña warp remains undyed. Overall pattern of small flowers with four petals each in rows of four and five. Three darker pink, cotton or silk bands at ends. Plain weave with supplementary wefts of cotton or silk. Ends unhemmed and gathered. Displayed at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis in 1904. |
