Description | "Krishna as Shrinathji." Rajasthani School (Nathadwara). Krishna is depicted as Shrinathji with the upraised arm symbolizing the lifting of Mount Govardhana in order to protect the residents of Vrindavan from Indra’s destructive rains. The figure is shown holding lotus flowers and is richly adorned with a beaded necklace and peacock feather cap. The background is a rich embroidered tapestry. There is an inscription at the top. |
