Description
Brocade on warp faced ground, no floats visible on reverse. Warp stripes, horses, plants and birds. Mostly red ground, no floats visible on reverse. Warp stripes, horses plants and birds. Mostly red ground, purple, green, white, orange and yellow. Cotton and silk. Selvedges finished. Braiding and knotting at the other end. Good condition, some stains.
As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 70 epi, 2 singles, Z twist, red, white, blue, green and yellow cotton. Weft: 26 ppi, 2 singles, Z twist, red cotton. Warp faced plain weave. Supplemental weft - single faced. 1 panel - 2 selvedges. Made on a backstrap loom."
