Description | This Chimú-Inca style bottle is an elegant example of late pre-Columbian art. While examples of this particular style are blackwares, the white slip and red paint versions are less common. The 2 bird (probably parrots) modelled appendages on the shoulder are some of the many animal figures in this location in the style. The vessel shows slight overfiring with its slight tilt out of axis (a good example of variation in production). |
