Description | 3 white areas separated by 2 brocade design panels, each divided into a series of registers, some with small red geometric shapes, other larger animal forms and figures in navy and white background. The two registers alternate. Weft stripes in red and yellow. Brocading in blue, red, yellow and purple cotton and yellow and purple silk. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 38 epi, two singles, Z twist, white cotton. Weft: 26 ppi, two singles, Z twist, white cotton. Plainweave. Supplementary weft is two faced. One panel, two selvedges." |
