Description | Bird head fetish, possibly a turkey, with inlaid turquoise chips (one present, two missing) in the forehead. The face has inset eyes, a short, rounded beak, and part of what may be a snood just before the beak. The back of the head has lines carved to simulate feathers. A white, triangular point and discoidal shell and turquoise beads are attached on the underside of the head with a plant fiber wrapping coated with a black substance. Carved from a white stone. |
