Description | Longqin, (Yan-Kin) 14 double brass strings, trapezoidal body of light wood, 2 bridges with 6 string openings, lower bridges separate 2 rows of metal pegs along each end of sound box. 2 circular carved ivory decorations are set in wooden rings glued over holes in top of sound box. Paper with Chinese characters running along both sides of bridges. A drawer is in the longest side of the inst., it holds a small bamboo striker and a small brass tuning hammer. It also has 4 short dark wood legs. Good condition: bridges loose, paper deteriorated, ivory detached, some strings missing, crack in top. |
