Description

Hide, fringed, and painted with red, blue, and white pigment. Ties are sewn on at either end. Note on tag accompanying object, perhaps typed by Pennypacker: "New style Menstruation vale [sic]. The vale is not worn after its first use. Worn during her first period. Collected by F.G. Speck 1933..."
