Description | One of a pair of duilian 對聯 (sometimes called “antithetical couplets” in English). These appear on either side of an entrance with various rules about matching syllables and meaning. See 29-96-765B for the other duilian. See 29-96-764 for the tribute board that goes above the entrance. The characters read: 元老安邦仁風披拂 (Our elders and betters having brought peace to the realm, the winds of humaneness shall blow). |
