Description | Hair band of red ground with white selvedge borders. Bird and geometric designs embroidered in silk. Fringe is knotted silk ending in three large tassels at each end. Ends tapered. Old style. Eye shaped embroidery. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 100 epi, two singles, Z twist, red and white cotton. Weft: 20 ppi, two singles, Z twist, red cotton. Warp faced plain weave. Brocading is single faced. Woven on a backstrap loom." |
